Install Proxmox VE

This article will show you how to install Proxmox Virtual Environment (Proxmox VE) to your bare-mental

1. What is Proxmox VE ?

  • Based on the Debian Distro.
  • Managing and Deploying virtualized environments through the web console or the command line.

2. Preparation

To install Proxmox VE to your bare-metal. You need to prepare some things:

3. Prepare Installation Media

Open Rufus and select the option as the below image.

4. Install Proxmox VE

  • Plug in the USB device to your server and boot up the installation.
  • See the image below for your guidance.

  • The installation usually takes 5 minutes.

  • Once done, your server will auto-reboot. And you will see the Proxmox VE welcome message including an IP address to access your server via web-console.

5. Access the Proxmox VE

  • Open the browser and access the address: https://192.168.10.45:8006
  • Infomation to login
    • User name: root
    • Password: which you have set up in step 4
